Air conditioning fitted at Lincoln Students Union

Air conditioning has been installed at Lincoln Student Union after the glass front made temperatures unbearable for students.

Temperatures of around 40 degrees were recorded, and staff were moved to a temporary office throughout the summer.

“We moved out in the middle of July. The glass is all the way across and it radiates the heat” said James Brooks, chief executive of the Lincoln Students Union.

Work has been undertaken during the summer holidays to make sure that students can enjoy cooler temperatures in and around the union building.

A spokesman for Lincoln University said: “The University has been working over the summer to install new air conditioning units in the Students’ Union offices to address issues with over-heating in some parts of the building”
